Where do the 76ers stand?
After a couple of underachieving seasons the 76ers brought in Doug Collins to lead this team. With newly acquired pick Evan Turner likely to start Philadelphia will add a player who can play both on the break and in the half court offence. He has a great basketball IQ and is a good defender. But dating back to Iverson the 76ers always are missing bags. Elton Brand has massively underachieved and seems to always be injured. If he can get back into form and get back the post game he was once known for the 76ers could have the ability to make a playoff run. I’m not sure why Dalambert was traded. He is solid defensively and they don’t really have anyone else to step in. Evan Turner and Andre Igoudala will be explosive and great defensively. But their lack of front court and inexperience at point guard will hold them back. A good option to help would be trying to acquire Wizards and former Wizard Gilbert Arenas and Antwan Jamison. If Cleveland truly wants to win now taking on Elton Brand is a chance they might be willing to take while Jamison would be a much better fin in a running system Philly loves to play. What Jamison and Gilbert could also provide is three points shooting. Something this team lacks. Gilbert has a lot of game left even after being out 3 years and seems to be healthy. With these two players Philly could become a Dark horse to sneak into the Eastern Conference Semis.
