Are we ever going to be good?
Indiana is not horrible. They have a young star in Danny Granger. They have a good young big man in Roy Hibbert. So they have pieces to a winning team. But in order for this team to start winning they need to make some serious moves and those moves involve taking some chances. Their back court is probably the worst in the NBA. Brandon Rush is average at best and TJ Ford is the worst starting point guard in the NBA. Here are a few suggestions to try and make this team better. (Oh and if this team does not improve fast Larry Bird will probably be on his way out. First option trade for a point guard. Unfortunately they don’t have many pieces they could trade. But ones available and the best option is Gilbert Arenas. Coming off some bad injuries and suspension his value is as low as it can get. But this guy can still play. Gilbert would give this team another guy who can score and take allot of pressure off Danny Granger. Other point guards not as high profile but still better than TJ Ford are Jose Calderon and Goran Dragic. Both very well suited for a half court style offence that will likely be played by Indiana because of Hebert’s lack of mobility and the team in general lacking Athletic ability. Another option is Shannon Brown who could become available and is a guy who could really help this backcourt playing the 1 and the 2. If none of those deals can be done, why not Tracy Mcgrady and Allen Iverson. Indiana has nothing to lose. They won't ask to be paid allot and are much better than what Indiana has now.
