Where do we go from here?
Good question. Well the only answer is total rebuilding mode. Dan Gilbert does not have the players to even think playoffs and Cleveland will not attract any big name free agents. So they must build through the draft. Cleveland will have some rough years ahead and Byron Scott will surely have plenty of headaches but like Lebron James fell in their laps they can only hope another player does so via the draft. Looking at next year Harrison Barnes seems to be the top prospect and could be a great player to fill the James void. But not even looking at next year what has to happen now is the ridding of older players and constraining contracts. Antwan Jamison and Mo Williams could have some decent trade value. But if you don't get anything back for these guys that have to go in order to allow the young guys like JJ Hickson, Leon Powe, and Daniel Gibson to get some large minutes and grow. Hickson has to develop a star mentality that h was never allowed to have because of the King. But now he has to become the number one scoring option to get ready to play along their high draft picks for the next couple of years. James leaving was a crushing blow. Their is no denying this. But Hickson and some luck in the draft could have this team turned around. Keep your heads up Cleveland.

Enough Lebron. What does Cleveland still have on their roster? They have a point guard in Mo Williams who can shoot the ball better than most. They have a shooting guard in Anthony Parker who has proved he can lead with his time spent in Europe. A small forward in Jamario Moon who is an athletic beast and a whole bunch of power forwards all of which are capable of starting. These being JJ Hickson, Antwan Jamison, Anderson Varajao and Leon Powe. Will this team make the playoffs, no but they can be competitive if they can figure their Center and Power forward position out. Out of the 4 power forwards listed only Varajao and Powe have the ability to fill in as an undersized 5. Both are hardworking tough guys. Hickson will likely start despite Jamison being the better player because he is younger but with these four guys their are definitely worse front courts in the league. They will put a starting 5 on the floor that is capable of competing. Their chemistry should be good and they should have the desire to prove themselves. Don't expect anything from this team but their opponents should not take them lightly either.
